This week has been all about learning our store's new POS and inventory managment system, Anthology, setting up interviews with potential booksellers to form our core team, and getting my sideline orders figured out.  What are sidelines?  In bookstore terms, sidelines are anything you sell that isn't an actual, printed book.  Examples are journals, pins, shirts, mugs, toys, stickers, greeting cards, etc.  Sandbar Books inventory will be 35% sidelines and I am having SO MUCH FUN picking out items to carry.  It is a bit overwhelming though.  For example, we are d

I figured I'd write a quick blog post to let you know how things are going with the store.  We're moving into the fast and furious stage now.  Waiting on permits for our build out but at least all materials are in.  We have also started the ordering process and I'm so excited about some of the sideline items we'll be carrying in the store, such as hilarious greeting cards, awesome gift wrap, bookish gifts and accessories like t-shirts, stickers, mugs, journals, etc., some pretty great mermaid themed items, my kid-approved toys and games, and our 

Its been a busy time since signing the lease for the store!  Although you can't really see any progress if you walk past our store windows and peek behind the signs, all of the lovely logistical work is getting taken care of.
